There are two types of rooms: Kura (warehouse) and Omoya (main house)

KURA

A Spacious Room with a Lofty Ceiling Designed with Features of a Traditional Japanese Kura

The room features an open, airy design with a high, vaulted ceiling, highlighting the rich texture of the earthen walls and the beauty of the wooden beams.

A seamless blend of traditional Japanese and Western elements is bathed in soft, natural light.

Spanning over 90 square meters, this innovative room includes a king-sized bed, a private bathroom on the first floor, as well as a Japanese-style room, a study, and a minibar on the second floor.

OMOYA

A Traditional Japanese-style Room Reflecting the Legacy of Japanese Houses with a Western Touch

With a view of a tsubo-niwa (small garden) from the engawa (veranda), soft light filtering through shoji screens, and the refreshing scent of tatami mats, this spacious room offers an authentic Kyoto machiya experience.

Over 85 square meters of private space include a "hinoki" cypress wood bath in a dedicated bathroom, as well as the "Kurosawa Room," which showcases items left by the legendary director Akira Kurosawa.

    Film Director Akira Kurosawa

    Akira Kurosawa, one of the most renowned film directors of the 20th century, stayed at our inn during his filming in Kyoto, where he worked on scripts and storyboards. Today, a collection of valuable items from that time is on display at our inn.

    Note: The “Kurosawa Room” is accessible only to guests staying in the “Omoya” room.

    Cancellation within 2 days of check-in: 100% of the accommodation fee
    No-show without prior notice: 100% of the accommodation fee
    Note: If the cancellation fee is specified in the accommodation plan, those terms will take precedence.
    Accommodation Tax
    		 In accordance with Kyoto City regulations, an accommodation tax will be charged separately per person, per night:
    For stays under ¥20,000: ¥200
    For stays between ¥20,000 and ¥50,000: ¥500
    For stays over ¥50,000: ¥1,000
